PPSMI

I really cannot comprehend how PPSMI endangers the status of Bahasa Melayu as the national language. Science and mathematics literatures are vastly written in English. They're both mostly taught in English. It does not affect Article 152 of the Constitution.

I understand that some students may struggle and fall further behind because of their weak command in the English language. I agree with the notion that the English sessions should be extended and that is where learning should be enhanced, not during Math and Science.

What I fail to follow is the logic that it challenges the status of Bahasa Melayu. It's so obvious that this is yet another curve ball thrown at BN to discredit the ruling government. But PPSMI endangering the status of Bahasa Melayu as national language? Why don't any of these guys demonstrate against the proliferation of vernacular schools and fight for a streamlined education system?

So what happened to PAS' campaign manifesto for the creation of an Islamic state, or is that just hangat-hangat tahi ayam? Or too afraid of DAP's retaliation?

Oh, it's politics.
